Sam Rasoul was born in Warren, Ohio in 1981, the son of Palestinian immigrants.  He and his wife Layaly have three children.  Sam won a special election to Virginia’s House of Delegates held in January 2014 to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Delegate Onzlee Ware.  He received nearly 70% of the vote over his Republican opponent.  The only Muslim member of the Virginia General Assembly, he represents the 11th District, which includes part of the City of Roanoke.

For those wishing to join the Rockbridge County Democratic Committee, yearly dues are $20.00, payable at the door.

The cash bar for beer and wine will open at 5:30 pm; Dinner is at 6:15Please RSVP by March 21 for dinner to Jay Clarke at jclarke@ju.edu.  The price for dinner is $20.00; pay at the door.  Vegetarian meals available on request.  You may attend Sam’s talk without eating dinner, if you wish.

We will also accept tax-deductible contributions to the Jackie Pleasants Scholarship Fund awarded yearly to a deserving RCHS student based on scholarship and need.
