We are showing a movie about the Atlantic Coast Pipeline entitled “Won’t Pipe Down” and writing postcards to FERC before the April 6th deadline. We need your support and signed postcards! To make things easy for you, we’ll provide postcards free of charge and talking points to use on them! Please come and bring a friend.

Several W&L student and community organizations are cosponsoring a movie called “Won’t Pipe Down” at the Hillel House in Lexington, Virginia. This event is cosponsored by W&L’s Student Environmental Action League, Roosevelt Institute, and Public Interest Law Student Association, as well as the Rockbridge Area Conservation Council and 50 Ways Rockbridge’s Environmental Committee. We hope to educate people in our community about pipelines and their consequences, especially in relation to the Atlantic Coast Pipeline’s intended construction in Virginia.

“Won’t Pipe Down” is a short documentary presenting the definitive David versus Goliath battle between the residents of Nelson County, Virginia and the Dominion Power company. This inside look at the community and their fight against the Atlantic Coast Pipeline raises questions about environmental justice, property rights, and individual rights.

The deadline for submitting comments to FERC on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement is April 6th. We need all the comments we can get to STOP THE ATLANTIC COAST PIPELINE, a 42″ fracked gas pipelines cutting through our National Forests and across our waterways.
